Link & Pin is located in the South End area of Charlotte. The restaurant is beautiful and provides an elegant and rustic environment just as described.
The restaurant has a large bar area, a lounge area with a mix of sofas and lounge furniture, outdoor seating and of course you can grab an individual table. Be sure to make a reservation on Open Table so you can be seated as soon as you arrive.
I wore a nude bodysuit with black ripped jeans and a black strappy heel. You could definitely wear a cute flirty dress or a crop top and skirt combo. I wouldn’t say heels are required but it’s my motto to always throw on a heel for dinner (even if it’s just a low chunky one).
I love going to South End but the parking situation on that side of town is not the best. Luckily there is a covered parking garage right next door and the restaurant will validate parking up to the first 2 hrs.
Time to talk food and menu! We started off with the crispy oysters and garlic truffle fries. Both were amazing. The oysters had like a spicy honey sauce drizzled on top which was everything I didn’t know that I needed. I don’t usually like garlic flavored food but the fries were delicious and we literally cleaned the bowl. Next time I go I plan on trying the marinated chicken skewers or the pork gyoza dumplings. I am for sure reordering the oysters.
For my main I choose the tagliatelle pasta with shrimp. The pasta was ok. I love pasta and probably eat it two or three times a week. This dish was just ok and I likely won’t get it again. The pasta doesn’t really have a sauce. It’s not like a creamy alfredo or a vodka sauce. It’s more of just the leftover drippings from the mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes. Next time I will probably try the jumbo seared sea scallops or the shrimp and grits. My friends got the house burger and they loved their meals.
I ended up choosing this restaurant because I wanted a place that was known for their crafted cocktails. Link & Pin surely did deliver. Their drink menu is on an iPad which is super cool. I got a cocktail called Lake Love – the ingredients were McQueen Brazilian Gin, Limoncello, and St. Germain. It was delicious. I am a sucker for anything with St. Germain in it. My friends got the Three Way White Sangria. They loved it so much they got another one!
The service was five stars. Even though I didn’t like my main course I would totally come back because the service was impeccable. We ordered two appetizers at different times. The oysters came out last and took some time to come and the manager comped both of our appetizers without us complaining or asking. The waitress checked on us enough but not too much.
I would say the menu is reasonably priced for the type of entrees. Of course the steak and seafood is priced on the higher side but they do have burgers, salads, and other entrees that are more reasonably priced. I want to come back for brunch because I’ve heard the brunch menu is amazing. I have definitely added that to my to do list this summer.
