Hello April and goodbye first quarter!
It’s the beginning of spring and it’s time to get some deep cleaning done. Not just in your home but in your life. Today marks the start of the second quarter and it’s time to look back at the goals and resolutions you set in January. Now is the perfect time to figure out what habits or routines you might need to change or improve moving forward.
10 ways to spring clean your life:
1. Clearly write down your goals for the rest of the year. You may need to redefine them depending on how you ended your first quarter.
2. Invest in a planner if you haven’t already. If you already have a planner then consistently use it. Organization is key. If you noticed your days are busier then you anticipated invest in a daily time blocking planner to keep you on track.
3. Get into a morning routine during the week. How you start your day sets the tone for how the rest of it will go. Figure out what works for you – it could be a morning workout, daily coffee or a 5 minute meditation.
4. Clean the spaces where you frequently spend time. I would suggest focusing on your car, workspace and bedroom.
5. Incorporate exercising into your schedule. If you haven’t started working out let’s get it going (summer is almost here). If you’ve been working out occasionally lets get consistent.
6. Set some time aside to focus on your hobbies. Something outside of work, kids, organization obligations, etc. Something that you enjoy. Carve out sometime to put towards it and enjoy yourself.
7. Dedicate one day a week to self-care. Whether it’s reading a book, doing a face mask, or DIY crafts. Set aside some time to relax and destress.
8. Reevaluate your relationships. Nothing is more important than your peace. If certain relationships are constantly stressing or draining you maybe it’s time to take a step back.
9. Reevaluate your savings plan and budget. Did you overspend in the 1st quarter? Take this time to look at your finances again and revamp your financial goals for the rest of the year.
10. Declutter. Declutter your kitchen drawers, your closet, under the sink in your bathroom, all of your miscellaneous bins. You’ll feel so much better and will be so much more productive in a space that is not filled with a bunch of random stuff.
Sometimes you start off with a solid plan, but unexpected circumstances throw you off track. The important thing is to stop and reset. Hopefully you found some useful tips to help you start spring cleaning your life!
