Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone!
Today I’m sharing a simple and easy margarita recipe that is sure to get your Cinco De Mayo celebration going.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tequila
- 1 oz Fresh lime juice
- .5 oz simple syrup
- 1 oz Orange Liqueur
- Sugar or salt for rim
- Lime for rim
- Shaker
- Ice
Fill the shaker with ice. Combine all ingredients. Shake it really well. If you don’t have a shaker you can use two cups to mix back and forth or really any cup that has a lid. (But I would really suggest investing in a shaker from Amazon or HomeGoods .)
Run a lime around the edge of your glass. Dip the glass in a shallow dish or plate filled with sugar or salt. I prefer a sugar rim but I think that’s because I prefer my margs to be more tart. So the sugar rim kind of balances that out.
Fill the glass with ice and pour!
Garnish with a lime.
Drink and Enjoy!
Tricks and Tips
- If you want to make this really simple you can definitely get a premade sour mix or margarita mix from the store. I personally only use the Food Lion brand sour mix if i am not making everything from scratch.
- If you don’t already have orange liqueur at your house you can substitute it for orange juice.
- I always say don’t use your good alcohol in a mixed drink. Instead of Casamigos you can definitely use Milagro, Espolon, or 1800. Save the Casa for shots!!!
- I have margarita glasses because I am a glassware fanatic. But you could just use a rocks glass instead.
